Reference Design of the Power Management, LED Drivers and Motor Control of an Electric Bicycle (eBike), based on Nexperia Solutions. Electric bicycles (eBikes) have an integrated electric motor and rechargeable battery, making it an eco-friendly, zero-emission vehicle. They need lightweight systems to reduce weight for handling comfort and improved electrical efficiency. Power components play a key role in this. By increasing the efficiency of the electronics, an E-Bike can travel further for the same weight of battery or the same distance with a smaller battery pack. Slim and space optimized designs with high power density are essential to support state-of-the-art concepts. The LFPAK56 power MOSFETs have best-in-class power density and current rating, and low heat and high efficiency and the LED and Gate drivers provide low cost custom solutions driven by component reduction demand.
