Designing for a 5G world

Since its launch at the end of 2018, the 5G roll-out has gathered momentum, and, as of May 2021, 443 Mobile Network Operators, (MNOs), in 133 countries were investing in the new networking technology. Already in the fourth year of its roll-out, the penetration of 5G is expected to overshadow that of any previous cellular generation, with analysts forecasting 2.7 billion connections by 2025.

There has never been a better time to accelerate your 5G design journey. From infrastructure to endpoint, 5G will reach into every aspect of our business and personal lives. And there is no better place to fuel that journey than Avnet Silica’s 5G solutions page.

AMD RFSoC DFE

The RFSoC family includes state-of-the-art solutions that eliminate the need for discrete converters, placing everything you need on a single chip. The elimination of discrete implementation means increased power reduction and a smaller physical footprint. With simple interfacing and increased flexibility through direct RF sampling, system architects and RF designers can implement future-proof solutions within a rapidly evolving landscape. The RFSoC portfolio features highly optimized synchronization for phased array applications. The elimination of the JESD204B interface results in lower latency between transmit and receive times.

There are still new advancements to the RFSoC product family just on the horizon. The Zynq RFSoC DFE (Digital Front-End) is a 5G NR radio solution that will balance the flexibility and cost of tomorrow’s evolving 5G landscape.
