The i.MX 8M Plus family focuses on machine learning and vision, advanced multimedia, and industrial automation with high reliability. It is built to meet the needs of Smart Home, Building, City and Industry 4.0 applications.

  • Powerful quad or dual Arm® Cortex®-A53 processor with a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) operating at up to 2.3 TOPS.
  • Dual image signal processors (ISP) and two camera inputs for an effective advanced vision system.
  • The multimedia capabilities include video encode (including h.265) and decode, 3D/2D graphic acceleration, and multiple audio and voice functionalities.
  • Real-time control with Cortex-M7. Robust control networks supported by dual CAN FD and dual Gigabit Ethernet with Time Sensitive Networking (TSN).
  • High industrial reliability with DRAM inline ECC.

Evaluation Kit for the i.MX 8M Applications Processor

The NXP® i.MX 8MQuad Evaluation Kit (EVK) provides a platform for rapid evaluation of the i.MX 8MQuad, i.MX 8MDual and i.MX 8MQuadLite Applications Processors, utilizing 2 to 4x Arm® Cortex®-A53s and 1x Cortex-M4 cores. It brings High-Performance with Low Power, Flexible options of Memory and High-Speed Interfaces as well as advanced Audio and Video capabilities.

These boards enable HDMI out for simple out-of-the-box bring up. Presents LPDDR4, eMMC, QSPI and SDMicro memory options, 10/100/1000 Ethernet port, USB 3.0 connectors and PCIe Interface high-speed interfaces. For Audio and Video evaluations it brings an HDMI 2.0a Type-A and MIPI-DSI connectors, as well as 32-bit Audio samples with up to 768kHz sampling rate, an audio interfaces expansion connector, and a headphone 3.5mm audio jack.
