Harwin solutions for Building Automation
Keep buildings and factories connected with confidence
In the wireless world of Industry 4.0 and IIoT, connectors still provide vital links for data and power within nodes and equipment. Signal integrity issues cause production delays or compromise vital safety systems. Specify Harwin connectors and EMC shielding in your BAS (Building Automation systems) design, and you can be assured you’ve chosen quality and competence. Our experts are ready to listen to your connection questions, and can advise on your best choice for performance and cost-effectiveness. Find out more about the solutions below, or if you would like to discuss your design requirements in detail, you can get in touch with our team of FAEs in your local language.
Harwin is certified to ISO 9001 and EN9100D/AS9100D quality standards and have been supplying industrial and automation manufacturers for many years.
Key factors
- Mezzanine or daughterboard construction with durable connectors makes it easy to provide upgradeable or replaceable modules for futureproofing or legacy upgrades
- Sacrificial elements can be replaced by using sockets for pluggable devices (sensors, fuses, relays etc.)
- Rugged and reliable connections at remote locations or hard-to-reach equipment minimize downtime, lower the rate of maintenance requirements, and improve operational uptime.
- Shield components within or near wireless IOT/IIOT nodes that would otherwise be affected by the wireless transmissions. Ensure that edge computing devices with EMI-sensitive components are shielded.
- Less room or weight used by the connections in enclosures will allow you more room for other functions, processors, etc.
- When connecting within IOT nodes, and to the equipment at those nodes, consider both Design for Manufacture (DfM) and ease of use/replacement in the field.
