Avnet Abacus LogOn in action
Easing growing supply chain worries
Background
We were introduced to a Tier 1 automotive supply customer by a large manufacturer of electronic components who felt the supply chain was becoming too complex. The customer has a global footprint with six locations in Europe and 10 items equating to almost €1 million total volume. A key challenge that needed to be addressed in the handover package was that that supply had to be through a separate SAP channel to keep prices confidential and ‘ring fence’ the goods. Who benefits from Avnet Abacus LogOn? LogOn is ideally suited to customers looking for a greater level of supply chain service than their supplier can provide, such as increased flexibility, reduced working capital, near-shore inventory and supply chain visibility & sustainability. Our commercially and operationally focused team can integrate LogOn to provide scalable solutions, with a single point of contact for you and your supplier, plus consistent pricing across the whole of your EMS network. Strengthening the bond between you and your supplier Avnet Abacus LogOn helps the relationship between you and your customers go from strength to strength. Our dedicated team provide visibility into supply chain problems before they impact the customer. It’s a win-win situation that makes everyone’s business smoother, less complex and, ultimately, more profitable. Discover the benefits for your business from the LogOn team today
Solution
Our LogOn Team created a new hierarchy in our segregated channel for the business. We then drew on the expertise of a number of Avnet Abacus teams such as Asset, Product Marketing, Warehouse, Operations, EDI and Supply Chain Solutions. We assigned the client a dedicated LogOn Inside Sales and Key Account Manager and supported the six European plants with local account managers. The comprehensive package covers logistics concept, EDI connections, buffer stock, labelling, forecast processing, support in case of escalations, the handling of the data flow and a segregated material flow.
Results
The supplier evaluations have been consistently positive, with Avnet Abacus A-graded by the customer
