Low-Cost Ionization Smoke Detector based on Microchip Solution

Low-Cost smoke detector featuring Microchip's RE46C12x Ionization smoke detection IC. The low power CMOS ionization type smoke detector IC features an internal oscillator that strobes power to the smoke detection circuitry for a determined time every given period to keep standby current to a minimum. A check for a low battery condition is performed every constantly when in standby. With this smoke detection IC and a few external components this circuit will provide all the required features for an ionization type smoke detector.
