Discover the new RA8 series MCU with Cortex-M85

Join Avnet Silica and Renesas for an interactive workshop, providing hands-on experience with the cutting-edge RA8 Series MCU, showcasing the powerful Arm Cortex-M85 architecture. The workshop will be held on 23rd May in Oxford, UK.

Uncover the industry’s first Arm Cortex-M85 based MCUs, the RA8 Series with Flexible Software Package (FSP).

FSP is designed to provide easy-to-use, scalable, high-quality software for embedded system designs using the RA Family of Arm® MCUs. The software provides a quick and versatile way to build secure, connected IoT devices using production-ready drivers, industry leading RTOS, and other middleware stacks.

The first lab session you will craft a project using the FSP configurator to periodically sample ADC values through a timer. This entails acquiring insights into integrating the timer driver and configuring it, incorporating an ADC driver, reading the ADC value in callbacks, and integrating ELC and Transfer drivers, along with their configurations.

The second session offers a hands-on introduction to the performance advantages of the Renesas RA8 MCU with CM85 core by benchmarking Helium intrinsics and Arm ® CMSIS DSP Library functions versus scalar versions. Tightly Coupled Memory (TCM) and cache will also be utilized together with Helium for further performance improvement.

In addition, we will demo a powerful but cost effective way to add Low Power Bluetooth to the RA series MCUs.

At the end of the day, you’ll take home the evaluation kit for your future development using the Renesas RA8 series MCU.
