This solution adds a dedicated microcontroller to increase functionality and optimize the system. The MCU provides power supply sequencing to reduce system standby current and support rapid startup. The MCU also serves as an I/O expander to reduce the number of ASIC and MPU pins required and optimize the total cost of the system.
