Low-Voltage Fan based on Microchip Solution
Reference design of a Low Voltage-Three Phase PMSM Ceiling Fan application based on Microchip solutions. To reduce home energy usage the design displays a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSM) with a higher power density which provides better energy efficiency and cost. You can run a ceiling fan at 300 RPM and only draw around 17.5W, about the same amount of power that 2 LED (60W equivalent) bulbs require. It also runs single shunt sensorless Field Oriented Control (FOC) algorithm for quiet and efficient fan operation.
