TE Connectivity Rogowski coils
TE Connectivity announces Rogowski coils
TE Connectivity's Rogowski coils can be used in a number of cases where traditional current transducer is not the adequate solution. They also grant a stable measurement from low currents to hundreds of kA. The major benefits of using rogowski coils is the flexibility to be installed, due to the availability of different coil diameter and a lot of different connection cable length they can be fitted to each application need. Three categories of rogowski coils will be added to the portfolio to accomodate different output signals and also different grades of output accuracy.
Features
- Rogowski coil portfolio focuses on flexible, lightweight, totally shielded coils for fast retrofit installation on large/awkward conductors (bayonet “one-click” closure)
- They offer very wide current range (from mA/A up to hundreds of kA) with high linearity and no core saturation, plus no open-secondary hazard and strong overload robustness
- The main coil families are SN140 (≈7 mm), SN150 (≈8 mm), and SN190 (≈12 mm) with passive versions and “/F” built-in integrator versions
- They emphasize accuracy/uniformity via testing & calibration, low positioning error, and strong rejection of external conductors due to shielding
Applications
- Power monitoring & control systems → Automation controls, motion and drives, Internet of Things (IoT)
- Energy monitoring / energy audits → Test and measurement, Internet of Things (IoT)
- Retrofitting / upgrades in electrical panels → Automation controls, motion and drives
- Measuring devices & lab instrumentation → Test and measurement
- Harmonics, transients & DC ripple measurement → Test and measurement, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Very high current monitoring → Motion and drives, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (EVI)
