Bourns CFG-A series automotive grade wide terminal metal foil resistor

Bourns is pleased to announce the release of the CFG-A series. This product line extends the CFG family of wide terminal metal foil current sense resistors with automotive grade models, which are designed for precise current sensing and robust performance in demanding applications.

The Bourns® CFG-A series is available in compact 0508 and 0612 footprints, offering power ratings up to 2W and resistance values ranging from 1mΩ to 40mΩ. These resistors are well suited for space-constrained applications requiring high electrical and mechanical stability, such as automotive phase current sensing for motor drive, OBC and power management systems. The CFG-A series supports an operating temperature range of -55°C to +155°C.

The wide terminal configuration minimizes parasitic resistance and enhances heat spreading into the PCB, enabling accurate current sensing in high-current designs. These resistors also demonstrate strong endurance under certain harsh environmental conditions, including temperature cycling, humidity exposure, and mechanical stress, making them an ideal choice for automotive electronics, industrial control systems and other high reliability applications.
