Bourns 1.5SMBJ series 1500 Watt TVS diodes

Bourns is pleased to announce the release of the new model 1.5SMBJ series TVS diodes for power supply equipment, communications, and data center markets. This new series was designed to provide high power rated TVS diode components in a compact package.

The Model 1.5SMBJ series is housed in an SMB (DO-214AA) package with a 1500W power rating and is well suited for the protection of power buses due to its surge withstanding capability. Compared to the conventional Bourns® SMCJ series which is housed in an SMC (DO-214AB) package, the 1.5SMBJ series features the same Ppk but saves up to 58% of the PCB area.

The Bourns® model 1.5SMBJ series is rated at 1500 W, 10/1000 μsec. In the data sheet, Ipp @ 8/20 μsec is also tabulated so that customers can design their applications to pass the IEC 61000-4-5 standard.
