Vishay Intertechnology announces that its popular VY1 and VY2 series of AC-line-rated ceramic disc safety capacitors are now available in a mini-size version. Featuring body diameters down to 7.5 mm and high pulse strength, the Vishay BCcomponents VY1…Y5V and VY2…Y5V are designed to save space, lower costs, and increase reliability for Class X1 (760 VAC) / Y1 (500 VAC) and Class X1 (440 VAC) / Y2 (300 VAC) applications.
• Y5V dielectric provides a higher dielectric constant, allowing for a significant reduction in diameter without
losing capacitance value
• For high reliability, the VY1…Y5V offers pulse load stability exceeding the 8 kV required by the IEC 60384-14.4
standard
• Silver-plated ceramic disc with tinned copper-clad steel connection leads offering 0.6 mm diameters
