Driver and controller

The Control and Feedback stages analyse signals from the current sensors mounted at the motor output, measure the temperature of sensors and control the driver for the conversion semiconductors. For Semiconductor modules, this board will be a pcb mounted close to or on the module, for discrete it could be on the main board.

Motor

Electric motors can overheat in the event of stalling, with the risk of permanent damage. An effective way to protect the motors is to use a limit temperature sensor (PTC) on the windings of the motor which can be monitored by the controller. Temperature increases in the motor caused by stalling can be directly measured by the controller and the power to the motor can be reduced or switched off to prevent damage.
