Hirose DF65 series 1.7mm pitch wire-to-board connector for power supplies

Hirose has introduced the DF65 series to meet with the requirement for compact, high powered, wire-to-board connectors offering advanced reliability for power supplies.

The connector range consists of cable mount, female crimp sockets and board mount, male headers that feature one of the world's lowest mated height profiles of only 1.8mm.

Power performance is not compromised by the compact size. The two outer contacts can be used for power; up to 4A (Amp) current rating can be applied when using AWG24 cable. The signal contacts can handle up to 1A current rating. Power and signal can be applied simultaneously under this condition.

High reliability is guaranteed with the double locking mechanism. The crimp socket mates to the header vertically to utilise unused available space, during this process the crimp socket engages with the positive and friction lock which provides a tactile click sensation to confirm correct mating and secure locking. The double lock also prevents the receptacle from floating. The lock can withstand 5N of upward cable pull force ensuring that the socket can not be accidentally removed from the header.

The header utilises robust blade contacts to resist against mechanical stress and any wrenching forces. The cable socket uses crimp contacts which are positioned within a strengthened housing lance to increase the retention of the crimp contact into the housing to prevent the cable pulling loose during cabling.
