Smart Agriculture Solutions webinar spotlight

Practical Innovations in Connectivity, Positioning and Edge Intelligence

Autonomous tractors navigating fields with centimetre-level accuracy are no longer a future concept. Drones can deliver real-time crop insights, while connected machinery reports operational data from remote locations. At the same time, intuitive human-machine interfaces are simplifying complex agricultural workflows for operators.

Deploying these applications reliably at scale requires careful system design. Each relies on advances in areas such as high-precision GNSS, wireless connectivity, real-time asset tracking and embedded intelligence capable of local processing and rapid response. Technologies that were once considered independent are now increasingly deployed alongside one another in systems that must operate reliably in harsh outdoor environments.

For engineers and system designers, this development introduces significant complexity and new opportunities. Achieving the required levels of functionality, robustness and scalability depends on a thorough understanding of the latest technologies in positioning, connectivity and edge intelligence, as well as how these complement one another in practical deployments. It also demands careful selection, integration and optimisation of these technologies for real-world agricultural applications.

To help engineers stay ahead of the rapidly evolving field of smart agriculture, Avnet Silica has designed a two-day technical webinar, Smart Agriculture Solutions, taking place on 17 and 18 February 2026. The event brings together experts from NXP, Nordic Semiconductor, Quectel, Renesas, STMicroelectronics, Tria and u-blox to explore practical, deployable solutions that are shaping the next generation of modern agriculture.

What You’ll Learn

This webinar is aimed at a broad technical audience, including electronics engineers, embedded developers, system architects, engineering managers, CTOs, and business leaders working in agritech and related fields.

Across the two days, attendees will gain technical insight into key technologies shaping modern agricultural systems, including:

  • High-precision GNSS and positioning: Learn about positioning technologies used in agricultural applications, including precision farming and machine guidance, with a focus on system capabilities and deployment considerations.
  • Wireless IoT connectivity: Explore wireless connectivity options for agricultural environments, including approaches to connecting sensors, machinery, and infrastructure using IoT technologies.
  • Drone-based intelligence: Understand how drone platforms and associated technologies are applied in agricultural contexts, including surveying, crop monitoring, and data collection.
  • Real-time asset tracking: Gain insight into tracking technologies and system approaches used to monitor agricultural machinery, assets, and operations.
  • Edge AI and natural language interaction: Learn about edge processing and natural language technologies for agricultural machines, including how local intelligence can support human-machine interaction.

Each session is supported by practical technical explanations and concludes with a live Q&A, giving attendees the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers and explore the topics in greater depth.
