XC9704/05 – 36 V 0.6 A Step-Down DC/DC

The XC9704 is a 36V synchronous step-down DC/DC with a built-in High side driver FET and Low side driver FET. It can operate from 3.0V~36.0V and deliver loads up to 600mA making it an ideal replacement for inefficient Linear Regulators used in many industrial applications.

The IC is designed for very high efficiencies at low output loads, with low quiescent current. The XC9704 works with Low ESR ceramic capacitors and comes with a choice of two switching frequencies (1.2MHz and 2.2MHz). By connecting a resistor and capacitor to the EN/SS pin, a soft start time can be externally adjusted to be longer than the internal soft start.

A Power Good output is available with the ultra-small USP-6C package, which measures only 1.8 x 2.0 x 0.6mm. An extremely small DC/DC circuit can be implemented with a minimal number of external components.

The XC9704 also includes a fold-back type current limit circuit and the IC will automatically resume normal operation as soon as the over-current condition disappears.
