The VOWA617A and VOWA618A are automotive‑grade optocouplers designed to provide reliable signal transmission with high galvanic isolation in demanding high‑voltage applications such as electric vehicles (EVs) and solar inverters. Housed in a widebody SMD‑8 package, they feature ≥ 11 mm creepage and clearance distances, delivering a significantly increased safety margin and enabling compliance with reinforced insulation requirements.

These devices consist of an infrared emitting diode optically coupled to a silicon phototransistor, ensuring robust performance and strong noise immunity in harsh environments. Qualified to AEC‑Q102 standards, they are optimized for use in onboard chargers, battery management systems, DC/DC converters, and industrial power applications where long‑term reliability is essential.

With isolation voltages up to 5300 VRMS, working voltages up to 1500 Vpeak, and a wide CTR range of 50 % to 600 % at low input currents, the VOWA617A and VOWA618A combine high efficiency with design flexibility. Their wide operating temperature range from −40 °C to +125 °C further ensures stable operation in challenging automotive and industrial conditions.
