LogOn - Next generation logistics and fulfilment capabilities

The global electronics business is facing unprecedented supply chain challenges. Chip shortages have resulted in extended lead times, with lack of availability meaning that there are constant threats of line-downs occurring. The procurement departments in OEMs and ODMs are becoming increasingly stretched and struggling to cope with the workloads they have been assigned. Many companies are recognising that there is a need for far more assistance than conventional distributors can give them.

The dynamics now affecting several key sectors, most notably automotive and industrial, and the high levels of channel complexity involved, necessitate access to a new array of logistical services.

That is why EBV has established LogOn.

Drawing on the knowledge of experienced industry professionals, this EBV business unit provides a way for customers with convoluted multi-site operations to offload the day-to-day management of their supply chain activities, while still keeping control and having complete visibility.

The number of companies looking to SIGN UP for our services is rapidly increasing.

At LogOn we provide each customer with a single point of contact (SPOC) that simplifies the whole management process. This means that they can protect themselves against any supply issues that arise by having a team of industry-proven experts supporting them.

Our TAM to DTAM initiative is at the heart of this. Rather than large-scale ODMs being forced to devote time to dealing with their numerous different EMS partners individually, they can consolidate everything together. LogOn staff are responsible for taking care of all their channel needs directly - doing so in an efficient, convenient and totally transparent way. They can attend to any backlogs, handle export licensing, update order books, deliver inventory and point of sales reporting, negotiate extended payment terms, and more.

We have a Team of 40+ commercial skilled Internal Sales Representatives and Key Account Managers who are ready to address customers’ specific requirements, covering:

  • Peak management - Enabling extra demand to be reacted to thanks to the stockpiling of a proportion of the annual order quantity to act as a contingency supply.
  • Programming - The necessary software can be securely added to ICs and board-level products via six ISO 9001-registered programming centres located around the world. LogOn has the ability to support any type of programming device and accommodate very high volumes, with an output measured in hundreds of millions of units each year.
  • Forecast management - So that everything can be adequately planned ahead and any potential for shortages identified at the earliest possible stage. As a result, customers’ inventory exposure can be reduced and working capital freed up.
  • Dedicated buffer stocking - Allowing additional inventory to be made available when needed to meet customers’ unexpected demand requirements or to react to shortages caused by quality issues. This is accompanied by ongoing semi-dynamic monitoring of consumption volumes.
  • Hedging - So that customers are not subject to fluctuations in international exchange rates, though having a fixed price established for an entire year.
  • Financing packages - So that extended payment terms can be agreed.
  • Third party logistics (3PL) - The complete stock for a certain semiconductor product is purchased from the vendor, then stored and sold to the customer base through LogOn exclusively.
  • End of life (EoL) - Working with customers 12 months ahead of schedule, then providing them with the option to store up to 10 years’ worth of their projected demand within our warehousing facilities.
  • Long Term Storage (LTS) with maximum storage duration of 10 years - Stock is stored in a dedicated and protected area. Extended storage time is offered via nitrogen repacking, which is provided as an additional service. The storage conditions are monitored for air temperature and relative humidity of the surrounding environment.
  • Additional labelling - As the customer requires.

Partnering with LogOn means that ODMs no longer have to concern themselves with any logistical issues. Instead, they are much better positioned to refocus their resources on innovating and making systems or equipment that will differentiate themselves from their competitors.

The tailor-made logistics solutions that we can deliver allow customers to unburden themselves from all their fulfilment problems. These can be passed on to our team to undertake - confident that the correct component quantities are always going to the required destinations on schedule, in line with the criteria that have been provided.

LogOn benefits from the strong relationships that it has built with the leading semiconductor vendors - including Infineon, Renesas, NXP, STMicroelectronics, Microchip, onsemi, ISSI, Micron, Broadcom, and others. This ensures that our customers will always have advance notice on new product introductions (NPIs) and emerging EoL situations.

In addition, we can leverage capital reserves to make major investments in stock and to cover long-term repayment plans. This is thanks to the financial stability that being part of Avnet brings.
