Vishay Intertechnology introduces the VOLA617A, an automotive-grade phototransistor optocoupler engineered to provide reliable signal transmission with high galvanic isolation for electric vehicles and industrial automation systems. The device integrates an emitting diode optically coupled to a silicon planar phototransistor in a compact, low-profile LSOP-4 package.
Designed to support next-generation 800 V EV battery architectures, the VOLA617A overcomes the limitations of conventional automotive optocouplers, which are typically restricted to voltages below 500 V. With the ability to isolate DC voltages up to 1000 V, it enables safe and efficient operation in high-voltage environments, making it ideal for advanced EV platforms.
The VOLA617A meets stringent automotive quality and reliability standards, including dual AEC-Q102 qualification. Its robust package construction provides an additional safety margin, ensuring dependable performance in demanding automotive and industrial applications.
