Vishay VCND2040X02

Vishay introduces the VCND2040X02, VCND2040SLX02, VCND2045X02, and VCND2045SLX02, a new family of Automotive Grade optical sensors designed for reliable, wear-free optical data transmission. Combining an infrared emitter and PIN photodiode in a compact surface-mount package, the devices enable high-speed data transfer up to 6 Mbit/s.

Designed for demanding automotive environments, the sensors provide a secure, EMC- and EMI/RFI-immune communication link and support simultaneous bidirectional data transmission. Two independent lenses and an integrated crosstalk barrier minimize optical interference, while side-view and top-view mounting options offer greater design flexibility.

For longer or more complex transmission paths, the devices can be coupled with optical fiber, extending communication over several meters and through bends or confined spaces with minimal energy loss. This makes them an attractive alternative to conventional wireless RF communication where reliability, security, and interference immunity are critical.
