The new TOPSwitchGaN switcher IC family extends the power range of single-ended flyback converters to 440 W, allowing engineers to achieve high efficiency and performance without employing complex resonant or LLC topologies—ideal for high-end appliances, e-bike chargers or industrial applications.

Combining PI’s boundary‑pushing PowiGaN gallium nitride technology with its iconic TOPSwitch IC architecture, the first integrated flyback switcher IC, the new devices represent a fundamental shift in power supply design, reducing complexity, shortening design time, improving manufacturability, and eliminating the need for heat sinks in many cases.
