We will introduce the latest Xilinx products designed for the New Space / Space 2.0 market, for use in satellites, cubesats and nanosatellites. The portfolio is particularly targeted for on-board processing payload applications.

Speakers

Troy Jones - Space Systems Architect, Aerospace & Defense, Xilinx

Troy worked for Lockheed Martin as both software engineer and Xilinx designer in the late 90’s, and spent the next 12 years as a Xilinx dedicated embedded specialist FAE in distribution.He then took on an FAE role for Microchip (formerly Actel) for 3 years where he assisted engineers design in radiation tolerant and radiation hardened devices. Following these Hi REL roles, he worked a few years as an Intel-PSG embedded specialist FAE working on SoC reference designs.After enjoying a few years as a professional Xilinx technical trainer, he was hired into Xilinx by the Central Products Group team as a Sr. Product Marketing Engineer responsible for planning, marketing and driving enhancements for Xilinx’s embedded Linux strategies. Over the past 9 months he has since returned to the space market as the Space Systems Architect on the Aerospace and Defense marketing team defining, promoting and supporting all the Xilinx space grade product lines. Troy has a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

Paul Leys - Space Systems Architect, Aerospace & Defense, Avnet Silica

Paul Leys is the Market Segment Manager for the Aerospace and Defense business at Avnet Silica.He supports the Avnet Silica EMEAI A+D business with the team of local Account Managers and FAEs. He has supported this business for over 25 years and has a particular passion for the Avionics industry. The Avnet Silica goal is to be able to offer a wide range of reliable and leading edge electronic component solutions to its Highrel customers.

Paul holds a BSc in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from Edinburgh University.
