Introducing the XQRKU060 – the world’s first 20nm Space FPGA.

Xilinx RT Kintex UltraScale FPGA - top side of the productAvnet Silica would like to invite you to join our Space Special. Xilinx will present their new 20nm Space FPGA – the XQRKU060. Afterwards we will hear from Renesas and Teledyne e2v who will present power and data acquisition solutions for the XQRKU060.

Agenda

15:00
Xilinx Introduces 20nm Radiation Tolerant FPGAs for Space Applications.
Xilinx’s 20nm space-grade FPGA, deliver full radiation tolerance and ultra-high throughput and bandwidth performance for satellite and space applications. The new 20nm Radiation Tolerant (RT) Kintex® UltraScale™ XQRKU060 FPGA provides true unlimited on-orbit reconfiguration, over a 10x increase in digital signal processing (DSP) performance – ideal for payload applications – and full radiation tolerance across all orbits.
This talk will discuss the XQRKU060 architecture, Vivado software platform and discuss availability of Xilinx Class Y and Class B solutions.

16:00
Renesas Radiation Hardened Power Solution for the Xilinx XQRKU060.
Renesas Rad Hard Communication product line (formerly Intersil) will present their various power management ICs that are suitable for powering the XQRKU060 FPGA:
  • Powering Space
  • Radiation Hardened Power Management Products
  • FPGA Power Rail Requirements
  • Selecting Devices suitable for each power rail
  • XQRKU060 Power Solution Eval Board ref design.

16:30
Teledyne e2v High Speed Data Converters, Co-Processors and Memory for the Xilinx XQRKU060.

Teledyne e2v will cover applications for their high speed data converters in space using the XQRKU060. The technical aspects of interfacing high speed data converters to the FPGA will be covered and a highly efficient serial interface will be detailed. Solutions for direct conversion up to Ka band will be outlined.  In addition a 30 GigaMIPs Quad ARM A72 co-processor for the XQRKU060 FPGA will be described along with a space grade DDR4 memory solution to accompany this processing power.
