Since 2003, Fabio Pagano is Technical manager at ASSIL, the National (Italian) Association of Lighting Manufacturers. Pagano is responsible for association’s activities in the field of technical standards of lighting systems, with relevance to lighting / photometric aspects.

Fabio is an Italian member of technical committees ISO TC 274 and CEN TC 169 Light and lighting (and in several related WGs); chairman of the Italian Technical Commission UNI CT023 Light and Lighting, convenor of working groups GL1 General terms and quality criteria – Definitions, GL13 photometric performances (joint working group with CEI) and GL15 Lighting Designer. Also, member of CEI CT 34 Lamps and related apparatus and related subcommittees, secretary of CEI SC 34A (lamps).

He is an active member of the European federation LightingEurope (The Voice of the Lighting Industry) in WG Sustainability, WG Sound Product Rules, WG Better Enforcement and WG Value of Light working groups. Chairman of former LE WG Circular Economy (from 2016 to 2018). Chairman of CELMA WG SQLE, Sustainable Quality lighting in Europe (from 2011 to 2013) and of CELMA LPP WG on Performances of Luminaires (from 2007 to 2011).

Passionate about new technologies that bring better life to people

He started in the semiconductor industry in 2008 after working in the construction industry in Spain where he was working as a construction project manager. This year he joined a promising start-up that developed some of the biggest Solar plants in Spain and also got introduced to the LED technology that he saw it was a world changer technology.

In 2009, he started an LED lighting company in Spain called LEDsPRO that was a pioneer and challenger in the market and was successfully sold to the French company Lucibel 2 years later.

With the boom of the LED industry and with his company sold to Lucibel he moved to France to work in the R&D department of Lucibel to develop new LED luminaires and new products for the future. One of the recognitions was that the French president at that time Francois Hollande was on the TV installing one of the bulbs developed by Lucibel R&D team and showing the future of lighting to all the French citizens.

After 2 years in France, he moved to Germany the biggest lighting market in Europe where he started a career in Seoul Semiconductor. The World number 3 LED maker with strong innovation character.

During the last 7 years he worked in several positions growing responsibility till Technical and marketing Director for Europe.

Oliver studied business administration in Darmstadt, Germany with a focus marketing and sales. He worked in several lighting related jobs before he moved on to Avnet Silica in 2018, becoming the Regional Sales Manager Lighting in Central Europe. In his role, Oliver is overseeing all sales related activities in the Central Europe area. He spends almost 15 years in the Lighting industry and more than 20 years in semiconductors. He also contributed to a number of industry publications and events including being a recognized speaker at the annual LED and Lighting Technology.

Philippe Benedet has worked in the electronics and control industry for more than 30 years, gaining experience in measurement techniques, software development, building management and lighting. As a seasoned Technical Marketing Manager, he is passionate about quality of lighting in the living and working environments. In addition to developing Avnet Silica ecosystem, he is also involved in requirements analysis and training. Outside of the office, Philippe enjoys flying GA aircraft and history.
