Power Days 2021: Power Solutions for Vehicles and Fast Charging Applications
online, on-demand
Join Avnet Silica at this webinar dedicated to vehicular and infrastructure applications (eChargers).
With sessions run by the experts from our partners Nexperia, onsemi, ROHM and STMicroelectronics we’ll cover the topologies, reference designs and technologies that are shaping the next generation of electric vehicles.
Transformation of the automotive market is already underway, and innovations in semiconductor technologies are now enabling the utilisation of wide- bandgap for applications in electrified transportation. These advancements mean that many electric vehicles, from industrial and urban cleaning machines, to farm and building and tractors, forklifts and even boats, will be required to comply with low emission electric or hybrid design.
At this webinar, you will learn about:
- Multiple solutions for different electrical specs
- Mechanical and thermal requirements
- Solutions for efficiency, density and cost optimization
- Latest innovative solutions from our supplier partners
Session descriptions
Nexperia: GaN FET’s for improved efficiency, stability and robustnesses in your next generation applications
In this presentation, we discuss where GaN technology fits In Automotive, eCharging Infrastructure and Smart Industry applications. GaN FETs deliver the highest power conversion efficiency, up to 1MHz in soft-switching (High power density) and lowest WBG FET losses in reverse conduction. These features enable your next design upgrade!
onsemi: Charging and driving solutions for non automotive electrical vehicle
Vehicle electrification doesn’t happen only in-car but in many domains starting from kW range up to several kW and covering many and various mobile vehicles.
In this session, we will focus on onsemi™ solutions for the two major blocks (the charger and the traction inverter) needed in an electrical traction system. During this presentation, we will give you examples of available evaluation boards that can help you evaluate and build a traction system. Finally, the major technologies involved in those blocks will be also discussed.
STMicroelectronics SiC MOSFETs and Galvanic isolated gate drivers
In this session, we will share not just the newest roadmap update, from a block diagram we will provide a technical and application demonstration related to different ST SiC Mosfets benchmarking and behavior at switching with newest isolated gate drivers like STGAP2SIC for usage in high power Industrial applications like DC-Chargers for the e-vehicular Infrastructure or high power converters. Get at the same time the latest Power news from STMicroelectronics and become connected with the experts.
ROHM Solutions for EV charging & Integrated 1700V SiC MOSFET for industrial auxiliary power supply solutions
EV Charging:
The increasing number of EV’s is creating a demand for a strong charging infrastructure. From charging at home to charging on motorways different charging powers are required. What are the suitable power classes and topologies for use in this application? Which semiconductor technologies and which topologies will enable the most efficient systems? SiC is an enabling technology and Rohm offers various products for charging solutions.
Integrated 1700V SiC MOSFET:
Auxiliary power supply is an essential part of Industrial inverters to deliver different level of DC voltages for gate drivers and control units. A proper selection of AC/DC device will save design time, development & production cost and will reduce system complexity. ROHM’s BM2SC12xFP2 quasi-resonant(QR) AC/DC converters with integrated 1700V SiC MOSFET meet these expectations and are the best fit for industrial auxiliary power supply solutions.
