AI Capabilities
At the heart of the i.MX 95’s AI capabilities is the NXP eIQ® Neutron Neural Processing Unit (NPU). This NPU is designed for high-efficiency edge AI workloads and comes in multiple configurations. The N3-1024S variant is capable of reaching 2 TOPS (Trillion operations per second) and can be used for high-end acceleration.
The i.MX 95 is already being used in generative AI applications such as:
- Speech-to-speech translation with low latency
- Voice command and control interfaces for industrial and automotive environments
- Vision processing pipelines optimised for machine vision (e.g., 2x 4K30P or 8x 1080P30 camera feeds)
These use cases are enabled by the NPU’s ability to handle complex AI/ML workloads locally—without relying on cloud infrastructure.
