The STSPIN32F060x system-in-package is an extremely integrated solution for driving three-phase applications, helping designers to reduce PCB area and overall bill-of-material.

It embeds an STM32F031x6x7 featuring an ARM® 32-bit Cortex®-M0 CPU and a 600 V triple half-bridge gate driver, able to drive N-channel power MOSFETs or IGBTs.

A comparator featuring advanced smartSD function is integrated, ensuring fast and effective protection against overload and overcurrent.

The high-voltage bootstrap diodes are also integrated, as well as anti cross-conduction, deadtime and UVLO protection on both the lower and upper driving sections, which prevents the power switches from operating in low efficiency or dangerous conditions. Matched delays between low and high-side sections guarantee no cycle distortion.

The integrated MCU allows performing FOC, 6-step sensorless and other advanced driving algorithms including the speed control loop.

EVSPIN32F0601S1 - 3-phase inverter based on STSPIN32F0601

The EVSPIN32F0601S1 board is a 3-phase complete inverter based on the STSPIN32F0601 controller, which embeds a 3‑phase 600 V gate driver and a Cortex®-M0 STM32 MCU. The power stage features STGD6M65DF2 IGBTs, but can be populated with any IGBT or Power MOSFET in DPAK or powerFLAT 8x8 HV package.

The board has a single-shunt sensing topology, and both the field-oriented control (FOC) and sensored or sensorless 6‑step control can be implemented. This allows driving permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) and brushless DC (BLDC) motors.

The evaluation board is compatible with a wide range input voltage from 50 V to 280 V DC/AC, and includes a power supply stage with the VIPER06XS in flyback configuration to generate +15 V and +3.3 V supply voltage required by the application.

Debug and configuration of FW can be performed with standard STM32 tools through the detachable STLINK‑debugger. SWD and UART TX‑RX connectors are also available.

The EVSPIN32F0601S3 board is a 3-phase complete inverter based on the STSPIN32F0601 controller, which embeds a 3‑phase 600 V gate driver and a Cortex®‑M0 STM32 MCU. The power stage features STGD6M65DF2 IGBTs, but can be populated with any IGBT or Power MOSFET in DPAK or powerFLAT 8x8 HV package.

The board has a three-shunt sensing topology, and the field-oriented control (FOC), either sensored or sensorless, can be implemented. This makes it especially suited to drive permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs).

STEVAL-CTM011V1 - 250 W mainstream compressor solution based on STSPIN32F0601Q and STGD5H60DF

The STEVAL-CTM011V1 is a three-phase inverter based on the STSPIN32F0601Q controller, which embeds a 3-phase 600 V gate driver and an Arm® Cortex®-M0 STM32 MCU. The power stage features STGD5H60DF IGBTs.

The board supports one-shunt and two- plus one-shunt sensing topology. You can properly set the shunt topology by populating the related shunt resistors (RS1, RS2, and RS3).

Moreover, you can implement a sensorless field-oriented control (FOC). This allows driving permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) and brushless DC (BLDC) motors to cover a wide range of applications, such as refrigerator compressors, pumps, fans, and industrial appliances.

The STEVAL-CTM011V1 evaluation board is compatible with a wide range of input voltages. It includes a power supply stage with the VIPER122 in buck configuration that generates +15 V and +3.3 V supply voltages required by the application.

The companion firmware is X-CUBE-MCSDK, available for download on www.st.com, to be used with the STSW-CTM011 firmware example for compressor motors.

You can compile, debug, and configure the firmware through the STM32CubeIDE and B-STLINK-ISOL plus STLINK-V3SET.

SWD and UART TX-RX connectors are also available.

The STEVAL-CTM012V1 evaluation board is a three-phase inverter based on the STSPIN32F0601Q controller, which embeds a 3-phase 600 V gate driver and an Arm® Cortex®-M0 STM32 MCU.

The power stage features STD8N60DM2 MOSFETs.

The board supports both one-shunt and two- plus one-shunt sensing topology. You can set the shunt topology by opportunely populating a set of jumpers.

Moreover, you can implement a sensorless field-oriented control (FOC). This allows driving permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) and brushless DC (BLDC) motors to cover a wide range of applications, such as refrigerator compressors, pumps, fans, and industrial appliances.
