STLINK-V3PWR - Compact in-circuit debugger and programmer for STM32

STLINK-V3PWR is a two-in-one standalone debugger probe and a source measurement unit (SMU) designed to synchronize code execution with a power consumption of STM32 applications in real time. This tool is specifically adapted for power consumption optimization (patent pending).

STLINK-V3PWR can be used as a standalone source measurement unit to supply power and measure the current consumption of the target application. The product keeps the output voltage constant during fast current transient from very low current to high current.

STLINK-V3PWR is also a standalone debugging and programming probe for STM32 microcontrollers. The product embeds a multi-path bridge interface with an integrated level shifter to adapt to the target application I/Os voltage.

STLINK-V3PWR USB Type-C® connector allows data communication with the host PC and sinks up to 5 V/3 A to supply both the probe and the target application, via the SMU and the auxiliary output.

Hardware Debugger and Programmer Tools for STM32

STLINK-V3SET - Modular stand-alone debugging and programming probe for the STM8/STM32

The STLINK-V3SET is a modular stand-alone debugging and programming probe for the STM8 and STM32 microcontrollers. It is composed of a main module and a complementary adapter board.

The SWIM and JTAG/SWD interfaces are used to communicate with any STM8 or STM32 microcontroller located on an application board.

The STLINK-V3SET also provides a Virtual COM port interface allowing the host PC to communicate with the target microcontroller through one UART, and bridge interfaces (SPI, I2C, CAN, GPIOs) allowing for instance the programming of the target through the bootloader.

The STLINK-V3SET can provide a second Virtual COM port interface allowing the host PC to communicate with the target microcontroller through another UART (called bridge UART). Bridge UART signals, including optional RTS and CTS, are available on adapter board only (MB1440). The second Virtual COM port activation is done through a reversible firmware update, which also disables the mass storage interface (used for drag-and-drop flash programming).

The modular architecture of STLINK-V3SET enables to extend its main features through additional modules such as the adapter board.

STM32 Software Development Tools

STM32CubeMonitor-Power (STM32CubeMonPwr) enables developers to swiftly analyze the power/low‑power consumption of target boards, and optimize the energy efficiency of their applications. This software tool acquires power measurements through the STLINK-V3PWR probe, the X-NUCLEO-LPM01A expansion board, or the energy meter of the STM32L562E-DK Discovery kit specialized intermediate board, and displays these measurements using an intuitive graphical interface. Dynamic measurement of current covers a wide range from 100 nA to 500 mA for STLINK-V3PWR, while STM32CubeMonitor-Power allows updating of acquisition parameters and data rendering in real time. Execution of EEMBC® ULPBench™ tests is also supported to directly provide an accurate ULPMark™ score.
