RA6E2 - Entry-Line 200MHz Arm® Cortex®-M33 General Purpose Microcontroller

Renesas' RA6E2 MCU in LQFP package with 64 pins

The RA6E2 group is based on the 200 MHz Arm Cortex-M33 core and adds additional memory and package options along with support for CAN FD, I3C and HDMI CEC interfaces.

The RA6E2 can be offered to users who want higher performance and large flash memory in addition to the features compatible with the RA4E2. The RA6E2 not only increases the CPU operating frequency, but also adds a QSPI interface, a second DAC channel and additional 2 Timer channel.

RA6E2 expands the memory and package lineup to maximize market coverage. Support for CAN FD, I3C and HDMI CEC, which are not widely available in the existing Cortex-M33 based devices, allows RA6E2 to meet a wider range of new application requirements. With this enhanced entry-line product, customers can achieve seamless, broad application deployment at low cost. In addition, the Renesas Flexible Software Package (FSP) provides an easy-to-use development environment. Customers can reduce their development resources/time by using FSP’s small memory footprint HAL drivers and peripheral drivers with software scalability with the rest of the RA family.

  • Small BGA (4x4mm 36pin, 5x5mm 64pin) and 32pin QFN packages
  • Scalability for 200 MHz performance and up to 256KB code flash memory
  • High performance and, like RA4E2, also reduces power supply pins and improves multiplexing, allowing more GPIOs to be used and optimizing system size and cost

  • 200 MHz Arm® Cortex®-M33 core based on the Armv8-M architecture. Achieves 754 CoreMark score, one of the highest in the entry-level class.
  • Various package lineups from 5x5mm 32-pin QFN to 5x5mm 64-pin BGA, as well as 36-pin BGA, 48-pin QFN and 64-pin LQFP

Facilitates customer application development and product expansion

  • In addition to the various features of RA4E2, the RA6E2 adds a QSPI interface, a second DAC and increases the number of 16-bit GPT Timer channels
  • Enhanced usability with addition of SWD boot mode to the existing operation mode
  • Easy to use Flexible Software Package (FSP), fast-start software for connectivity, and development tools from Renesas and the Arm partner ecosystem
