Renesas RA6M5 - New microcontrollers with high-performance 200 MHz Arm® Cortex®-M33 core based on Armv8-M architecture including TrustZone

Renesas RA6M5 MCU in LQFP packages

Renesas is expanding the Renesas RA6 series with the RA6M5 group based on the latest Arm® Cortex®-M33 Core with TrustZone®. The RA6M5 is suitable for IoT applications requiring strong security, rich connectivity, and large embedded RAM for connectivity stacks. The group has multiple communication interface options with CAN FD, Ethernet MAC with DMA, USB Full Speed and High Speed, and various serial communications. 

With the Octa-SPI interface, the huge 2MB on-chip Flash and 512KB on-chip RAM can be extended even more. The increased number of RAM with ECC is ideal for safety critical applications. The integrated standby RAM along with the low power consumption of the Renesas 40nm process is the optimum for low power applications. The on-chip Data Flash can be used as an EEPROM and save an external component. The memory block swap feature in conjunction with the Security Crypto Engine makes the RA6M5 the best choice for applications where flexible in-field firmware updates are required.
