Windows® 10 IoT Enterprise on ARM (NXP i.MX)
In addition to the already known Windows IoT Core, there is now also Windows® 10 IoT Enterprise on ARM. Through the intensive collaboration between Microsoft and NXP, Windows IoT on Arm is an attractive product that offers the advantages of NXP's i.MX 8M family in terms of small footprint, low power consumption and low cost without compromising Windows application compatibility or graphics capabilities.
NXP i.MX 8M Family
As an expert in IoT, NXP has created a powerful combination of computing power, I/O and peripherals with the i.MX 8M processor family. The small footprint of the i.MX 8M results in a cost-effective and low-power solution that enables compact and fanless Windows IoT enterprise devices that were previously not possible.
Full Windows Application Compatibility
The NXP i.MX 8M is now supported by Windows IoT Enterprise, which enables full compatibility of familiar Windows applications. This means that .NET Framework, .NET Core, WinForms, WPF, as well as more modern frameworks such as UWP and WinUI can be used.
DirectX graphics on the Verisilicon GC7000Lite GPU
The NXP i.MX 8M BSP for Windows IoT Enterprise includes a GPU driver co-developed with Verisilicon for the GC7000Lite GPU that supports the DirectX11 graphics API. This GPU driver accelerates rendering tasks across the operating system and specific application frameworks to provide a smooth Windows UI experience with broad display compatibility.
