The idea of community goes far beyond the cities and neighborhoods in which we operate. We think of a community as any group of people who share a desire to make a positive difference, wherever and whenever they can. Avnet’s philanthropic mission is to promote a culture of community service through sharing best practices and ideas that encourage employee volunteerism and charitable giving. We are particularly focused on the areas of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), diversity and the environment.

Understanding the power of working together, we partner with suppliers, customers and vendors to maximize our impact in the community. We also back up that commitment with financial support by investing in programs and projects in our communities targeted at improving technology education, promoting energy conservation and helping underserved groups gain skills and obtain employment opportunities.

For more than a century Avnet has been reaching further together to improve the world while its employees have made a positive impact in the communities where they work and live. Avnet Cares, our recognized employee volunteer program, supports the company’s culture of hands-on giving by giving back to their surrounding communities and regularly supporting other charitable programs.
