New Product Introduction

Toshiba Electronics Europe TCKE712BNL

Extension of advanced eFuse ICs portfolio

Toshiba Electronics Europe TCKE712BNL product image

TCKE712BNL an extension of the range of Toshibas advanced eFuse ICs. This new device will ensure that the highest degrees of safety are always maintained.

While conventional fuses, such as glass tube and chip fuses, protect power supply lines by breaking if there is excessive current, eFuses provide a much more effective alternative. Unlike outdated conventional fuses, they are designed to support repeated use (being automatically reset by an internal logic signal). These devices also offer much faster responsiveness and have a greater breadth of built-in protection functions.

Key features

  • Thin WSON10B package (3.00 x 3.00 mm, 0.75mm)
  • Typical RON of just 53 mΩ
  • Input voltages of 4.4 to 13.2 V are supported
  • Output current IOUT up to 4.14A

Additional features

Advantages

  • Integrated fast-trip comparator can switch off the output typically within 320 ns
  • An external capacitor can be included to reduce inrush current
  • IEC 62368-1 is planned

Benefits

  • Provides customers a simplified path to certification testing of their products

In addition to the highly accurate over-current protection function, the new products are equipped with functions for highly accurate over-voltage protection, inrush current reduction through slew rate control, short-circuit protection, over-temperature protection, and reverse-current blocking under protecting state (an external N-ch MOSFET is required). They are eFuse IC products in a thin package suitable for protecting power supply lines.

Applications

  • Circuit protection of power supply lines
  • Thermostat, Cordless cleaner, Cordless power tool
  • Electrical shaver, Cleaning robots, Camera
  • Server, Smart speaker, Wireless charger
