USB Type C Basic Charger Based on Microchip Solution

The basic Type-C charger based on Microchip solution provides a dual USB port power switch PD controller capable of delivering 3.0A continuous current per VBUS and detecting cable connection and orientation. The controller provides a comprehensive set of circuit protection functions such as precision overcurrent limiting (OCL), undervoltage, and overvoltage lockout. Charging is achieved by Microchip's MCP19123 stand-alone mixed signal synchronous buck pulse-width modulated (PWM) current mode controller that features an integrated microcontroller core, high-endurance flash memory, communication, and configurable analog circuitry.
