This Renesas solution shows a complete high-end (400V/2kW) synchronous motor, powered from single phase or 3-phase mains power. The unit consists of a high-performance Arm core MCU taking care of the motor control, working in an isolated island and controlling via optocoupled IGBT drivers a set of high voltage IGBT half bridges. The system also shows the required single phase or 3-phase power supply, with power factor correction (PFC).
