Safe isolation

Broadcom’s opto-isolation solutions provide unmatched high voltage protection and signal isolation that meet or exceed international safety standards. Broadcom optocouplers, including digital optocouplers, isolation amplifiers and gate drive optocouplers, are used in a broad array of applications ranging from power supply and motor control circuits to data communication and digital logic interfaces.

For higher creepage and clearance, Broadcom Fiber Optic (FO) Short Link products are cost-effective semiconductor products that provide up to 50kV transient galvanic isolation on a single PCB. Based on 650nm fiber optic technology, the FO Short Link devices are suitable for applications such as inverters/drives, power electronics, or medical equipment.

ACFL-3161 / ACFJ-3262 - 10A Single and Dual-Channel Basic Gate Drive Optocouplers 

These 10A single and dual-channel basic gate drivers come in SSO-12 and SSO-24 packages, designed for high voltage, space constrained industrial applications like motor drives and inverters. The new compact package features 600V CTI mold which reduces the creepage requirement due to high voltage applications.

ACPL-355JC - 10A Smart Gate Driver with Protection and Feedback

The ACPL-355JC is a 10A gate drive optocoupler device with integrated fail-safe IGBT and SiC MOSFET diagnostics, protection and fault reporting. The device features common mode transient immunity (CMTI) greater than 100 kV/μs and provides minimal propagation delay with excellent timing skew. The high peak output current and wide operating voltage range eliminate the need of an output buffer circuit, enabling designers to implement cost-effective gate driver solutions for motor drives and power inverters.

Packaged in a compact, surface-mountable 600V CTI SO-16 package, this full-featured and easy-to-implement gate drive optocoupler is certified to provide reinforced insulation with 2,262 VPEAK working voltage meeting safety regulatory IEC/EN/DIN, UL, and CSA.

Current and Voltage Sense Optocouplers are used for isolating current and voltage sense and are typically used to measure phase currents (with shunt resistors) or DC-link voltages in three phase frequency converter power applications.

ACPL-C87B – Precision Optically Isolated Voltage Sensor. The ACPL-C87B voltage sensor 2V input range and high 1GΩ input impedance, makes it well suited for isolated voltage sensing requirements in electronic power converters applications including motor drives and renewable energy systems. ACPL-736J – Optically Isolated ±50 mV Sigma-Delta Modulator with CMOS Interface. ACPL-736J is a 1-bit, second-order sigma- delta (Σ-Δ) modulator that oversamples an analog input signal into a high speed data stream with galvanic isolation based on optical coupling technology.
