To enable Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Autonomous Driving (AD) functions, modern cars are fitted with a growing number of sensors such as radar, camera, ultrasonic and lidar. However, each sensor alone has its limitations and cannot solely provide all the necessary information about the surroundings for making crucial safety decisions. By fusing data from various sensors using a domain controller, a complete model of the environment can be generated to enable ADAS and autonomous driving features.
