PCAP Rotary Knob
This technology enables mounting capacitive rotary encoders, also called rotary knobs, on top of a touch panel.
The knob is a passive mechanical element, specifically designed to include at least one conductive pad.
The PCAP knob is optimized for the SIS touch controller and is sensed capacitively through the touch sensor.
This technology reduces the number of active components required to create a sleek HMI design.
It eliminates the need for an opening in the front panel or display, reducing costs and extending product lifetime by preventing moisture and dust from entering the system.
It also does not require a specific touch sensor pattern under the knobs, allowing you to reuse a standard touch display.

Haptic Feedback
The DoD provides physical and audible haptic feedback to the user during both Rotate and Push operations.
The graph below shows the TTR (Torque to Rotate) for one revolution clockwise and one revolution anti-clockwise. The individual detents providing the feedback are shown as peaks.
24 haptic responses during a 360° revolution.
