Optical Bonding​

Optical bonding means removing the air gap between the display layers—specifically between the cover glass, the touchscreen, and the display module—by filling it with a transparent adhesive (OCA film or OCR resin).​
 

Advantages of Optical Bonding​

  • Improved optical clarity and readability​
  • Reduced glare and reflection​
  • Lower backlight power required for the same brightness​
  • Increased impact resistance (higher IK grade)​
  • Protection against flying glass splinters​
  • Enhanced environmental resistance (no humidity or dust intrusion, up to IP6 grade)​
  • Better structural stability between the frame and the Display–Touch–Cover Glass stack​
  • Reduced parallax effect during touch interaction​
  • UV protection when using Anti-UV bonding with a filter​
