Auxiliary pumps and fans
Auxiliary pumps and fans, such as water and oil pumps or engine and battery cooling fans are exposed to high temperatures. Further design challenges for these applications include the need to increase electrical efficiency, minimize acoustic noise and overcome limited space. Infineon’s Embedded Power ICs can overcome these challenges.
High integration level: System-on-chip solution
Infineon’s Embedded Power ICs are system-on-chip solutions integrating data processing, actuation and sensing. Extensive diagnostics and protection features are embedded to deliver high system reliability on a minimal footprint (7x7 mm). Spanning the TLE986x family for brushed and the TLE987x family for brushless motor control, the pin- and software-compatible portfolio creates design synergies across DC and BLDC motor control applications.
As Embedded Power ICs are qualified for (junction) temperatures up to 175°C, they are the perfect fit for high-temperature applications. A configurable gate driver and protection features allow you to scale your design up to 1 kW. These Embedded Power ICs also support sensorless field-oriented control for reduced noise and increased efficiency.
Infineon offers an ecosystem with supporting design-in materials such as simulation tools, application notes, a forum for your questions and a toolbox, which includes a complete development tool chain provided by Infineon and third-party vendors.

BLDC_SHIELD_TLE9879: BLDC shield for Arduino with TLE9879QXA40
BLDC Shield for Arduino with TLE9879QXA40 is designed to drive BLDC motors in combination with an Arduino compatible baseboard. The Shield is flashed with several motor control algorithms (sensorless FOC, Back EMF, hall sensor based block commutation), and it is controlled from the baseboard via SPI. Additionally, it has a 3x2 pin strip to easily connect the Hall pins of an electric motor. It also allows the user to easily change the motor parameters of the motor control algorithms.
