Vishay VODA1275 - High Output Voltage Photovoltaic Mosfet Driver
High-output voltage photovoltaic MOSFET driver designed to provide optical isolation and drive external power MOSFETs or IGBTs
The VODA1275 photovoltaic MOSFET driver uses an internal infrared LED optically coupled to a photovoltaic diode array. When the LED is energized, the diode array generates a DC voltage capable of driving the gate of an external MOSFET.
This allows the device to function as an isolated solid-state driver, eliminating the need for a separate power supply on the output side.
The device provides:
- High output voltage (typically up to 10–20 V open circuit)
- High isolation voltage between input and output (2.5–5 kVrms typical)
- Low input control current, compatible with logic-level signals
- Compact package, suitable for space-constrained designs
Typical applications include:
- Driving power MOSFETs and IGBTs
- Solid-State Relays (SSR)
- High-side switches
- Isolated analog or digital signal interfaces
- Industrial automation and process control
Key features
- Reinforced Isolation
- Increased safety and reliability due to CTI 600 mold compound
- Comfortably drive IGBTs and Mosfets gate voltage < 20 V
- Extreme fast turn on and turn off time
Applications
- Pre charging and active discharge in Evs, energy storage systems
- Driving Mosfets and IGBTs in a BMS system
- Custom solid state relays for on board chargers
- Custom solid state relays for automation systems
