The LinkSwitch-XT2SR IC family is a groundbreaking solution designed to significantly enhance the efficiency of small auxiliary power supplies for appliances, consumer products and industrial applications. Specifically tailored for non-isolated designs that require a high current output, these advanced flyback switcher ICs boast an impressive full-load efficiency of over 90%. Even at a 100 mW load, they maintain an efficiency exceeding 85%. The LinkSwitch-XT2SR ICs reduce no-load and standby consumption. The self-powered devices draw energy from the BYPASS pin capacitor, which is charged through an internal current source. This design ensures that the BP supply current required for the device remains minimal. Achieving zero input power during no-load operations becomes more straightforward with the LinkSwitch-XT2SR. By optimizing external components like the input capacitor, primary snubber, and power transformer, the no-load input power can be further minimized. In scenarios with dual output applications, the standby input power, even with a 30 mA load on the 5 V output, remains under 200 mW. This focus on efficiency and consumption reduction underscores the IC's commitment to energy conservation and optimal performance. While LinkSwitch-XT2SR ICs come with a default 5 V main output, users have the flexibility to adjust this via optional external feedback resistors. Power for both start-up and regular operation is sourced from the DRAIN and VOUT pins. This innovative approach eliminates the need for a bias winding and its related circuitry, streamlining the design process. Utilizing a compact SO-16 package and requiring only a few external components, LinkSwitch-XT2SR ICs are a perfect fit for designs where space is a premium. Additionally, its integrated features, such as the SR driver and the 3.3 V LDO (uVCC), further reduce the component count, making it an even more attractive choice for designers.
