ASFETs for PoE, eFuse and relay replacement
Nexperia’s ASFETs for PoE, eFuse & relay replacement are designed with low-power applications in mind, including Power-over-Ethernet (PoE), low-power inrush management, eFuse and relay replacement. Using the same silicon technology as the bigger ‘ASFETs for hotswap’, these smaller ASFETs deliver enhanced SOA for low-power linear-mode applications in a range of compact DFN2020 (2 x 2 mm) and LFPAK33 (3.3 x 3.3 mm) packages.
Key features
- Enhanced safe operating area (SOA) for superior linear mode operation
- Low RDSon for low I2R conduction losses
- 2 mm x 2 mm space-saving DFN2020 package, 60% smaller footprint than LFPAK33
- Very low IDSS leakage
Additional features
- ASFETs primary role is to:
- Safely manage capacitive inrush current when Powered Devices (PD’s) are connected to Power sourcing Equipment (PSE’s)
- Provide current limit & shutdown to safely manage overload conditions & cable faults
- ASFETs for PoE combine industry leading enhanced Safe Operating Area (SOA) and low RDS(on)
- ASFETs for PoE are available in LFPAK33 (3.3 x 3.3 mm) and space-saving DFN2020 (2 x 2 mm) package
- ASFETs deliver superior linear-mode capability, power density and thermal efficiency in a compact footprint
- Enabling designers to squeeze more high-power PoE ports into a compact router / switch
- Also suitable for eFuse & relay replacement where superior fault tolerance is required
Applications
- Low power PoE applications
- IEEE802.3at and proprietary PoE solutions
- Fault tolerant load switch - inrush management and eFuse
- Battery management applications
- Relay replacement
- WIFI hotspots
- 5G picocells
- CCTV
