Absolute encoder module with Energy Harvesting

The AR49-M49M series encoder is an absolute encoder comprising a default 25-bit single-turn (ST) and 24-bit multi-turn (MT) counts by Broadcom. Utilizing the latest optical reflective technologies, the AR49-M49M and the AR49-M25S series support user-programmable resolutions from 15 bits up to 25 bits single-turn absolute outputs. Upon mechanically assembled to a customer motor, Users will be able to utilize the state-of-the-art Auto-Calibration features to ensure the optimum operation of the final encoder system. The AR49 series optical encoder is only 35mm in outer diameter, excluding the recommended external magnetic shield cover for the overall energy harvesting encoding system. The Energy Harvesting Multi-turn technology converts rotating magnetic field into electrical energy, which powers the revolution tracking circuit regardless of the encoder rotation speed and direction. Therefore, there is no loss of revolution count even in the absence of external power supply. Energy Harvesting Multi-Turn does not require periodic maintenance of the battery backup components and the downtime associated with it. The AR49-M49M series encoder is offered in a selection of the popular industrial differential line communication protocols, which are supported by a full-duplex or half-duplex differential line transmissions drive, offering good noise immunity for more robust transmission of data. The Serial Synchronized Interface (SSI), BiSS-C and asynchronous RS485 protocols support options of up to 10Mbps transmission in harsh industrial applications. On the other hand, the 4-wire Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI 4) protocol is also available in single-ended output. For the best accuracy performance, Users can opt to perform a reference encoder based accuracy correction in order to achieve a typical absolute position accuracy of +/- 30 arc-seconds, or better.
