Nisshinbo Micro Devices R5668Z
1-cell Li-Ion battery protection IC with temperature sensor input
The R5668 series 1-cell Li-Ion battery protection IC provides standard battery protection features but also enhanced features for a higher level of safety and reliability. An additional temperature sensor input measures the battery's temperature periodically during charging and discharging and turns off both the charge and discharge MOSFETs during an overtemperature event. A second additional input is used to set the IC in a forced standby mode to lower current consumption when applications are shipped or stored for extended periods, ensuring that the battery remains charged and ready for initial use.
