The new HiperPFS-4 PFC controller ICs feature an integrated Qspeed low Qrr boost diode in the space-saving eeSIP package. Placing the Qspeed boost diode and boost FET inside a single package simplifies design and heatsinking while reducing assembly costs. It provides improved robustness against AC line surges by minimizing parasitic trace inductance - reducing the voltage spikes, seen by the power switch during transients, by up to 50 V. This new solution enables designs that meet the 80% voltage de-rating demanded by equipment makers while achieving more than 98% full-load efficiency.
