Infineon Technologies automotive current sensor
XENSIV™ - TLE4972
High precision miniature coreless magnetic sensor for AC and DC measurement qualified according to AEC-Q100. The sensor provides an analog output proportional to the magnetic field measured. Additionally two digital outputs for indication of overcurrent events are available. Infineon’s well established and robust monolithic hall technology enables accurate and highly linear measurement of the magnetic field caused by the current. The measurement range of up to +-31mT allows to sense currents up to 2kA without the negative effects, e.g. hysteresis and saturation, known from core based sensors.
Key features
- Highly accurate coreless magnetic current sensor
- Two independent overcurrent detection pins
- Programmable gain and overcurrent thresholds
- ISO 26262 compliant development for safety requirements up to ASIL B
Additional features
- No hysteresis, no saturation like in core-based sensors
- Protection against over currents also for fast switching technologies
- Very low power dissipation
- Support for safety critical applications
- Reliable current measurement over lifetime without recalibration
- Programmable gain settings to adopt the sensor to the system needs
Applications
- Traction inverter (high voltage and 48V)
- Auxiliary drives
- Battery main switch
- Current monitoring
- Overload and over current monitoring
- Automotive powertrain
