The JN5189/88 is designed to power the next generation of very low current wireless devices, supporting Zigbee 3.0, Thread, and IEEE 802.15.4. Powered by Cortex®-M4 at up to 48 MHz with 640 KB flash and 152 KB SRAM, enough for complex applications and Over-the-Air (OTA) upgrade capability. JN5189T/88T has an integrated NFC NTAG to implement contactless NFC commissioning, simplifying the network build-out while saving energy and increasing security. It has a rich set of peripherals and multiple communication interfaces for connected applications, including SPIFI, to extend non-volatile memory.

Enablement: Development Boards

The JN5189/88 development platform (PN: JN5189-DK006) is designed to make it as easy as possible to get started with your project based on JN5189/88. The development kit is composed of rich components including a control bridge with an NFC reader, generic switch node, light/sensor node and USB dongle that allows for a small wireless network to be quickly assembled.

Each dev kit (JN519-DK006) contains

  • 3x Mother board
  • 1x Light/Sensor expansion board
  • 1x NFC reader board
  • 1x Generic switch expansion board
  • 3x JN5189 Upgrade and Expansion Kit
